Dimebag Darrel is dead.

Words can't describe what I feel right now. Although I've never met him, I feel as if I have. His music has been instrumental in every waking moment of my life since I picked up my guitar when I was 14. Cemetary Gates was one of the first songs I ever learnt on the guitar, and I've always thought brilliant. Damageplan was the beginning of a new era - removing himself from the redneck trash that Phil Anselmo had made Pantera to look like. Damageplan was one of the bands I wanted to see live, and Dimebag before I die. I wanted to thank him for his inspiration and for sharing his amazing ability with us around the world. Although I never met him, that in itself is selfless.

I will miss Dime. Words can't express how I feel right now - but I'm sure he's livin' it up with Randy, Stevie, Jimi and co right now in the great, amazing, fuckin ear shattering gig in the sky.

Here's to you Dime. *cranks Dimebag signature wah-wah* R.I.P

Sting has announced his Tour of SEA, but no KL date. Strange since he has come down back in 1993-94 for a tour and concert in Stadium Negara, KL. In any case, the Singapore experience seems more appealing than seating in a hot Stadium Negara, with a bunch of uncouth people who don't really know Sting's music. Rather head to a seated concert over in the Indoor Stadium - only bitch would be trying to get a taxi home! The last time I got out of there after the Eagles concert, it took me close to an hour to grab a cab home...EEK. But this time, I don't expect an 11,300 capacity crowd.

So mark the calendar - Sting, Live in Singapore, January 10th 2005, Singapore Indoor Stadium. This time, my sweetheart may be with me - which is a major plus! Great way to start the year!

The Eagles are a fantastic group. They are the undisputable kings of harmonizing and professionalism. I've been to many concerts, and I've never been one like this before. The mix was unbelievably good, and no member of The Eagles, albeit aged, sang off-key. It was an amazing 3 hour performance, 27 songs, and capped by an 11,300 capacity crowd. Not an empty seat in the house. The only bitch was that I had to keep my camera in a locker - in classic Eagles fashion. Luckily for me, I had my binoculars, which gave me a front row seat to the show. Crystal acoustics and profound lyrics - the Eagles were an amazing lot, which captivated SE Asia with a one-night only performance.

Gary Hoey is a magnificent guitarist. He is one of the most mind bending ax purveyors I've seen, yet extremely humble. It is hard to find such people these days.

I had an amazing 3 hours out in Planet Hollywood, KL + Bentley Music, catching Gary Hoey rip through some of his more popular songs, and also offer some guitaring tips. I got 3 cds signed, one A4 glossy photo signed, his guitar pick, his sheet music and a great photo with him. I also managed to jab him a little about a song he wrote called 'Motown Fever'. Let's just put it this way - if he ever remakes 'Motown Fever' and it spans for about 5 minutes, it was my suggestion!!

Check out the pic on the right of Gary Hoey and I.

But the best line of the day came at the end......

"I'll tell Zakk you said 'hi'".

Dear. Only you and I will ever understand that :)

I'm sick as hell, tired as hell, my body is bruised, halfway broken and battered.

But still, this is the most fun and rockin' time I've ever had since returning to KL.

Scorpions are legends!!!!! And I was literally this (..) close to the stage!!!!

Check out the pic on the right taken by yours truly.

Van Helsing: Jack. Come here. I know how deeply you loved her. That is why you must trust me and believe...
Doctor Jack Seward: Believe? How can I believe?
Van Helsing: I want you to bring me before nightfall a set of postmortem knives.
Doctor Jack Seward: An autopsy? On Lucy?
Van Helsing: No, no. Not exactly. I just want to cut off her head and take out her heart.
